Basic Settings

The basic settings are those required to initially get the store running and configured to operate.

Basic Settings

Site Terms and Conditions Link: This link will be used in your checkout process to link a customer to your terms and conditions. You should create a page specifically for this purpose to link to.

Site Privacy Policy Link: This link will be used in your checkout process to link a customer to your privacy policy. You should create a page specifically for this purpose to link to.

Weight Unit: This is used in some live shipping systems to calculate shipping. Also used as a display option in some situations.

Show Cart Icon Link in Menu: This option adds a cart link to the menu of your store. The menus this is displayed in are selected in the next option.

Cart Icon in Menu Example

Cart Icon Menu: If you turned this option on in the previous option, you can select the menus to use here.

Show Newsletter Popup on Site: By turning this option on, a popup window will appear when the customer first visits your site. They will be given the option to sign up for your newsletter or close the box. This is a good way to collect new subscribers for your site.

Currency Configuration

Settings and Options: You have complete control over currency, including decimal location, symbols, currency symbols, and groupings. In the background, currency is simply a numeric value and is sent to your payment gateway as they request the format to be. This setup is merely a design and format of the numeric value to make it fit with your standard practice. We also offer conversion rates for international users, please visit our advanced options section on the menu.

Store Display Options

Settings and Options: Configure how the products will display in the store. You can have a grid or list view along with controlling which filters are on by default and which will actually be displayed to customers. You can also add or remove each sorting option from the store sorting drop down box.

Product Details Display Options

Social Icons:: Decide which social icons you want displayed. These will automatically allow visitors to click and share your products.
Show Breadcrumbs: Turn on/off the breadcrumb navigation above each product detail display.
Show Model Number: Turn on/off the model number display under the title on each product detail display.
Show Categories: Turn on/off the categories that list below the price and add to cart on each product detail display.
Show Manufacturer: Turn on/off the manufacturer links that list below the price and add to cart on each product detail display.

Cart and Account Options

Default Payment Type: You should set which type of payment method will be the default. For example, if you offer PayPal Third Party AND Credit Cards by Authorize.net, select which one will appear by default.

Example of the Default Payment Selected

International Country Box Position: This option allows you to put the country box above all other address fields. This is really useful when using the advanced state display because it allows the customer to declare their country and let the system switch the state/province/territory box based on their selection.

Example of the Billing Information Section

Use Second Address Line: This allows you to provide a second line for a user to input their address information. Most people will want to offer this.

Collect User Phone Number: This allows you to turn the phone field on or off throughout the site. Useful for those who do not need a lot of customer information during purchase and helps to speed up the customer checkout experience.

Enable Company Name in Addres: This allows you to collect the company name from your customers as an optional field.

Enable Guest Checkout: If selling downloads, you may require customers to create an account because they must log into their account to download their products. Some stores may like to have guest checkout, which means a customer has the option to enter a password for their account or not.

Enable Shipping on Store: You can globally disable shipping, and then on checkout, the customer only enters their billing address, there is no shipping estimates or screens, and confirmation doesn't show a shipping address confirmation.

Enable Customer Notes on Checkout: Displays a notes text area right before confirming the order. You may want this enabled, it is only optional for the customer.

Enable Gift Cards: This will hide or show the Gift Card entry portion of the shopping cart. If not offering Gift Cards, you can easily disable and remove it from checkout screen.

Enable Coupon Codes: This will hide or show the coupon code entry portion of the shopping cart. If not offering coupons, you can easily disable and remove it from the checkout screen.

Return to Previous page after add to cart: By default, the store will take the customer to the shopping cart when they add an item to the cart, but you can disable that behavior here. By turning this on, your customer will remain on the page they are shopping on and will give them a notice about adding to cart successful, click here to checkout.

Skip Login Screen in Cart: Newer functionality allows your customer to log into the system on the same page as their billing/shipping info. By skipping the login screen, your customer will be able to checkout faster.

Skip Shipping Cart Panel: If you have few shipping options, you can skip the customer selection on a single page. By skipping the shipping page, you speed up the checkout process and the customer selects their shipping type on the final page.

Skip Review Order Screen: The default is to have the user review their order before submitting, but some users may prefer to speed up checkout and allow the customer to submit the order immediately from the payment page.

Require Terms Agreement: This requires the user to agree to the terms and conditions of the website prior to completing checkout.

Require Name for Contact Information: If you feel the customer name being collected separate from their billing and shipping info, you can turn off the contact information of the first and last name from being collected. This tends to speed up the checkout process as well, which is always good.

Enable Estimate Shipping: You can turn on/off the display of the estimate shipping box that appears on the shopping cart.

Account Page Display Options

Require Billing Input on Account Registration: If you would like a customer to have to enter their full billing address and information, you can enable here, otherwise, they only need their name, email, and password, without an address.

Require Email Validation on Registration: You can require the customer to verify their address before being able to access their account. This option, when turned on, causes the system to put their account on hold until they recieve an email and click a verification link.

Show Manage Subscriptions Link: If you do not plan to offer subscriptions or recurring billing, you should turn this off as it will not make sense on your store. If you do offer this though, you should leave on so that customers can manage their subscriptions through their account.

Require Custom User Notes on Registration: This requires a user to enter some custom notes while registering for your site. This is most useful when you need to collect some special data for wholesalers.

Google Analytics Setup

Google Analytics ID for Order Tracking: Enter your google urchin code and we will track ecommerce transactions to your account. This only tracks ecommerce transactions, and we assume you have analytics integrated another way into your pages, so that page data is tracked. This is usually managed at the theme level or through a plugin specifically designed to track page views.
